1.What has been the reaction to Jason Collins being openly gay so far?
So far from what i’ve seen all reactions about Collins have been positive and helping his self-esteem.
2.what people and/or groups have shown support for Collins?
Some of his peers from the nba have spoke out postiveltly to his desison, also the president called congradulating him.
3.So you belive Collins will get another contract to play in the NBA next season?
I belive he will based on his performance and not him being gay.
4.Do you think having a gay man in the locker room would be a problem for professional athletes?
Most athletes woulld keep it professional, there might be a little joking around.
5.In what ways is Collins showing leadership skills?
By standing up for all gay athletes and saying you dont have to hide being gay.
6.Can Collins being the first openly gay male athlete be compared to Jackie Robinson being the first African American baseball player in Major League Baseball?
No there is nothing saying you cant be gay in the nba and im sure there already is gay athletes. jackie robinson broke the color barrier, when the gay barrier has already been broke.

#2. This poem is about a mother whos cares for her kids but cant provide for them.
#3. To show and put the wealthy in the position of the poor.
#4. She said she will never squander away, so i think thats a form of saying she will never leave the homeless unoticed.

Pride (Pre-Writing)

Its good to have pride because I feel like it helps through the day. Pride is confidence about yourself or your acomplishments. Pride is knowing that you can achieve your goal. Also its the bravery to try new thing. Pride is having high self-esteem about you overall.

Sometimes pride can be negative by having high self-esteem. When you have to much pride you can be aragant and cocky. Also you might think your better than somebody if you have to much pride. Pride can be a dissagreement with the truth. Like now that your forehead is big but still thinking you handsom or pretty.

I think the definition of pride is being able to carry out actions with confidence every day. Pride is a matter self-esteem which can be positive and negative. Having high self-esteem is good but having to much pride can lead to problems with your peers or the people your conversating with. I feel like you should have pride because not having pride can lead to depression. Its good to think about your apperance and yourself in a postive way

1.CONTENT
The film was about a solider named Forest Gump that saves his soldiers and LT Dan knowing he can get killed.
2.FOCUS
The story surronds the relationship between Forest and his fellow soldiers as he risk their life for them.
3.THEME
The message of the clip is even though your life might be in danger, sometimes saving another life is more important than your own.
4.WHY DID I PICK THIS VIDEO
I picked this video because Forst Gump didnt have a lot. His mother died which made him join the army so thats really the only people like family he had. When they were out at war, even though a few soilders told him to leave them for dead, he saved 3 soldiers and Lt Dan. After he saved the soilders he was going back to save his best friend Bubba even thow they called a airstrike on the battlefield. I think he showed a lot of care and bravery for all of his fellow soilders.

Living To Tell The Tale

I see what once started as a simple argument escalated into a friend at gun point. On the celebration of New Years three friends went to a local bar downtown before the ball droped. After having a great time taking shots, the three drunkin friends walked down the sidewalk looking for something to eat. They approached the ball dropping as they could see numerous people counting down from ten.
While one of the three friends were trying to take a picture he noticed both of his friends getting aggresive. It started with vulgur words and lead to physical aggression. Blinded by anger one of the three friends pulled out a gun. They came to a sudden pause when it started to feel like they were the only three people downtown. The friend with the camrea managed to capture a picture while his friend was at gunpoint.
Letting the acohal take control of the situation, the friend with the gun stood in silence desiding weather to pull the trigger on his friend. Witness began to see the the gun and started clear out the area. As the drunkin friend holds a firm grip on the gun, he closed his eyes and pulled the trigger.
The lie about this picture is the friend dosent get shot. When he closed his eyes to pull the trigger the gun was on saftey. The friend with the gun in his face seeing a murderer in his friends eyes and the friend with the gun seeing that he was about to make a mistake he dropped the gun. The friend with the camera gave a sigh of releaf as the gun was dropped.
The guy with the camera made a copy of the picture and put it in the scrapbook. It wasent looked at again till ten years later when all of the friends were settled in there thirty’s. They showed there familiys and told them to never fight your friends because you can lose somebody you love. All of them joking about the gun the was on saftey.-

Letter to Mr Harris

Dear Mr. Harris
I am Bobby Johnson born in june 15, 1997. My orignal high school is Garner Magnet High school. I transfered to Mary E. Phillps because I was getting caught up with friends and a lot of bad influences. Also I was drawing in class instead of doing work, its a big part of what i want to do in the future. After I graduate I want to get my tattoo license.
The type of writing I do everyday is really Graffti in my sketch book. The reason I draw is because I want to be a tattoo artist. The audience for most my drawings is my family. They give me a honest opioin, and the purpose for my me drawing is because it benifits my future. In the classroom I think if the title of a Book was in graffti more people would be interested in reading it.
In middle school a memorie that I remember is writing fiction about anything that comes to mind. It was my english teacher Mrs. Neally that made me love writing. I still love to write but I write when needed and not for fun. What has changed is I draw a lot more letters than I write. Me drawing makes me love writing.
When im drawing or writing I have to be in a quite environment. I usually never have the t.v. on because it makes me not pay attention. I always write and draw with music, it helps me not get bored with what im writing. I usually dont do things last minute unless I forget. I like to share my writing so I can get an opion on how to improve it.
I really like writing because you can express your feelings through your words. Also I like making what comes to mind come to life through drawing. Hopefully by the time I get out of Mary E. Phillps, I want to get a apprentice job at a tattoo shop. then in 5-10 years, I hope to open my own shop. That why I have to use writing in my everyday life, and thats why I love writing.

My names Bobby not short for robert not a nickname for bob. They wont know what race I am if im applying for a job. Im named after Bobby Brown I dont know how it was found.
